We bought this for my son when he was under a year old; he is now 2 and still loves it! And now we have a daughter (almost 1) who loves it as well! Very durable and I love that the books are not flimsy and can't be eaten! Also, the books are full of great content! Daily activities, music, animals, etc. It's easy for my son to turn on and off alone. It's true that the kids can't really change the books in and out but that's ok with us. On the plus side, if your child takes the book out and can't get it back in, they can still play with the shapes buttons until you get another book in. Also, all the books DO fit easily in the storage compartment if you follow the directions illustrated on the storage compartment. My son loves to take this on road trips and loves to "show" it to his little sister and friends. The only negative for us is that the string on the pointer is a bit short. If your child is holding the pointer backwards, he won't reach the very bottom of the page.

My son got this as a gift for his first birthday. He loves it I just wish they made more then four books for it. I agree I wish the string was a little longer but I understand why it isn't.

My 2 year old daughter received this as a gift about 6 months ago and she loves it! It is well-made and keeps her entertained for quite awhile. The 4 books are all cover fun, appropriate topics. The songs are upbeat and catchy. There are built-in quizzes and shape buttons that are all engaging. My only complaints are that the books are somewhat difficult to interchange, so she always has to have mommy or daddy do that, and the little mouse pointer thing is somewhat awkward to hold when you are trying to turn the pages of the books.

My daughter loves this toy and has just begun to play with it on her own. I just wish I could find more books to add to it. I also have a hard time fitting all four books in the storage compartment in the back, but it's a great product, especially for the price. I would definitely recommend it.

We bought my first leappad but my 26 month old was having trouble manipulating the pen and getting it to work. This is much easier for toddlers. The only thing I might ask them to improve is to make the string a little longer on the pointer. She loves the music and animals. I was trying to see if there were any books I could add. It only comes with three (but that has kept her busy so far). Very nice product. Would buy it as a gift for someone else! Recommend! I also like the storage compartment on the back that keeps all the books together.
