My daughter loves this toy. It has a variety of sounds and songs and keeps her entertained and focused. The toy does go through batteries fairly quickly, but that can be said for most toys these days.
To those folks who are negatively rating this toy due to repeating or garbled sounds. Change the batteries. This toy, like essentially every other battery operated toy, will sound damaged if the batteries are low on power.

My 18 month old daughter received this as a birthday gift. Within several days, it stopped making sounds & music. The friend who purchased the gift exchanged it at [@] for a new one. Now, 6 months later, it sounds garbled and repeats the same terrible noise over and over. This toy is a piece of junk. Will not be purchasing any V-Tech toys in the future. Put your Christmas money to better use and go with Leap Frog, etc.

I bought this toy for my daughter for Christmas this past year..she was 7 mos at the time...she is now 13mos and she still loves to play with it. She love the pretend lipstick and likes to put them in their places...very adorable toy!

Thought it would be so much fun since my daughter loves lights & music but the on/off button is too easy for her to hit unlike the mode switch. Most annoying part is that it never really shuts off so it plays when she is not playing with it. There is no volume option and it plays even when you turn it off, especially when closing the lid. It also allows it to play if the jewel is touched after the lid is closed. Loud music toys NEVER annoy me but this does when we are playing with other toys and it won't shut off. It also breaks up the music repeating the same word over and over. Lipstick seems small enough to choke on. Cute idea but falls short on expectations.

My parents bought this toy for my 10 month old daughter and she loves it! It holds her interest for a long time. Also, my daughter's 4 year old daughter loved pretending to spray the perfume.

This toy is so cute,,, slightly educational, but really just a fun toy with imaginative play. What stole me on the toy (after admiring how adorable it was) was the cute little song that says, "owww your so pretty" its sooo sweet. I had to purchase it! My daughter likes the lipstick that can pop out. This is a sweet gift for any little girl.
