cute toy, very durable. i really like the song choices they arent your typical baby tunes. there is blues and jazz etc. i agree with the other reviewers about the voices a tad annoying and although it says there is volume control there is only two choices loud and louder.

My 6 month old loves this toy. She can't spin it yet but she does like the lights and sounds. My only issue is the voices could have been better. For instance, the talking animals are all the same woman and it's kinda creepy when she lowers her voice to be the bear...I dunno just kinda strange to me but still a great toy.

I recieved this toy at a baby shower. I was going to put the toy away till my son got older. But one day I tryed everthing to calm my son down and I was running out of ideas. So I decided to Bring the toy out. My son loves the animal, and the colors, and loves the music. I now have to bring the toy out every day. The sound is annoying to any parent. But the reason for that is to attract attention. And the loud part of this toy I dont notice a thing.

My son loved this at first, but the constant nagging of the animals noises became tedious and annoying. It was fun, but the animals had to much baby talk that it was hard to understand.

My parrot has had this toy for several years. Unfortunately, he recently ruined it when he took a water bath and got water inside of it. I tried to take it apart and dry it out, but then after putting it back together, it would not shut off. He is very possessive of his toy and knows the different animals. I had to divert him now that the toy is broken, so I bought him a Vtech "Baby's learning Laptop."

my 15 month old first started playing with it at age about 4 months. once he made out that he could press buttons and make it 'talk', he used it a lot. i sense/guess that he also liked hearing the childlike voice.
he recently started trying to push the spin button down but it needs more strength than he's got. his interest in the toy went down only now with the batteries.
initially (for a while) he did get startled by its volume (even the lower volume was too loud) and i would recommend adding another level of volume, a very soft one, which i'd anticipate would sound like an older child talking softly to the baby, whereas right now it's like an older child shouting around him. i used the higher volume level only when the battery got too low for the lower.

We have had the toy less than a year! We have tried all kinds of batteries (new and used) and it will not work!! My daughter likes the toy, but unfortunatly I will not by a new one!! I feel bad because like I said she likes it!! I am afraid if I buy a new one it will clonk out the same way!

Comments about VTech Electronics Spin & Learn Top:

The motion and lights are all great. However, it is not a learning toy. The voice and animal sounds are not understandable. Its muffled and sounds like a broken fast food order box. The animal sounds sound more like bodily noises than actual animal sounds. A child cannot learn unless the sound are clear and discernible.
